Post-edit in Camera Raw, Adobe Photoshop CS6
Rules embodied:
1. Rule of thirds. Two of the subjects - the details of the statue and the leaf are aligned into thirds.
2. Viewpoint. Choosing to crop and position the camera facing upwards allows the capture of a unique perspective.
3. Experimentation. Exposure: 0.00, Contrast: +55, Highlights +100, Shadows: 0, Whites: 0, Blacks: 0, Clarity: +1, Vibrance: -100, Saturation:+43. I made the statue and the leaf simultaneously more prominent and eye-catching by lowering the color scheme in order to create that emphasis.
